Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information The Gateway Covenant — a publication of Orbit Reads, operated by Asero Media — collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how you can have it deleted.
We run a small publishing operation: short videos on social platforms, long-form video on YouTube, a free PDF primer, and one paid $9.99 guide. We are not an advertising business. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with data brokers or advertisers.
1. Information we collect

We do not use tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or third-party analytics scripts on this site. We do not ask for your name, phone number, address, or date of birth.
2. How the Instagram and Facebook reply works
We operate an automated assistant that reads the public comments left on our own Instagram and Facebook posts, using Meta's official Platform APIs. When a comment reads as a request for our free guide, the assistant sends that person a private reply containing a link to the free PDF, and nothing else.
We only message people who asked. The assistant replies solely to comments that request the guide. It does not message people who merely commented on a post, it does not send follow-ups, it does not send promotional messages, and it does not contact anyone who has not written to us first.
From this process we hold the commenter's platform username, the text of the public comment, and a record that a reply was sent — so that we never message the same person twice for the same request. We do not build profiles, and we do not merge this information with our email list.
Your use of Instagram and Facebook is also governed by Meta's own privacy policy, which we do not control.
3. How we use your email address
If you give us your email, we use it to send you the free primer and occasional messages about new releases in this series. That is all. We do not send you other people's offers, and we do not rent, sell, or trade the list.
Every email we send includes a way to unsubscribe. You can also simply reply and ask, or use the deletion process in section 6.
4. Who we share information with
We share personal information only with the service providers that make the site work, and only to the extent they need it:
- Amazon Web Services — hosts our website and files, and processes web logs.
- Google — our email list is stored in a private Google Sheet on a Google Workspace account.
- Meta Platforms — operates Instagram and Facebook, through which comments are read and private replies are delivered.
- Gumroad — processes payment for the paid guide. Gumroad collects your email and payment details directly under its own privacy policy; we never see or store your card number.
We may also disclose information if we are legally required to do so, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
5. How long we keep it
- Email addresses — until you ask us to remove yours, or until we stop publishing this series.
- Comment and reply records — up to 24 months, so the assistant does not message the same person twice.
- Web logs — typically 90 days.
6. Your rights, and how to delete your data
You can ask us to tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or erase it. We honor these requests regardless of where you live.

Facebook username you commented from.
We will delete everything we hold about you and confirm by reply, normally within 7 days and always within 30. You do not need an account with us, and there is no cost.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or California, you additionally have the right to object to processing, to request a portable copy of your data, and — in California — to be free from discrimination for exercising these rights. We do not sell personal information as "sale" is defined under the CCPA.
7. Security
Our site is served over HTTPS. Our email list lives in a private, access-controlled Google Sheet, and the credentials used by our automation are stored on private infrastructure. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep the amount of personal information we hold deliberately small — which is the most effective protection available to an operation this size.
8. Children
This site and its material are meant for adults and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. International visitors
We operate from the United States, and information we collect is stored and processed there. If you are visiting from elsewhere, you are sending your information to the United States.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes affecting how we use your email will also be announced by email before they take effect.
